Just received the kits and haven't had time to start fermenting. Looks good so far, I let you know in 6 weeks.
First kit I've done. Made at 5 gal instead of 6. Came out medium sweet and fruity. Very, very easy to drink
Very nice. Reminds everyone of many of the wines on the Rhine and Mosel.
I don't especially like white wines anymore, but I got this one to make as gifts for friends and family who are white winers. 'Wurtz is supposed to be a spicy wine so I substituted QA23 yeast from the local brewing supply shop for the neutral EC-1118/champagne yeast provided in the kit. Those who were noticing the lack of spice, QA23 brings out the esters better. [And WL, make the yeast you supply a dropdown picklist. Champagne yeast is good, but it's not for everything]. The wine cleared like a champ and I bottled several days ahead of schedule. I've already downed two bottles myself. Which reminds me: need to bring up another one for later today.
